1. Program Overview:

A high-level, comprehensive, accredited professional and academic program extending over 12 months (one full year), with a total approved study load of 265 hours. It aims to prepare jurists, researchers, muftis, and leaders of Islamic work through integrated foundational and reality-based preparation. The program combines the foundational Shariah sciences (epistemology, Qur’anic and Hadith sciences, principles of jurisprudence, jurisprudential maxims, and the objectives of Shariah) with contemporary applications in the jurisprudence of financial transactions and digital banking, family jurisprudence and guidance, Shariah policy and international relations, the jurisprudence of judiciary, arbitration and Hisbah, applying rulings to emerging medical, technological, and intellectual issues, fatwa formulation, and deconstructing misconceptions.

2. Key Objectives:

•         Shariah grounding and integration of epistemology: building a sound jurisprudential and usuli faculty through comprehensive knowledge of the sources of reception, principles of exegesis, methodologies of Hadith scholars in criticism, agreed-upon and disputed evidences of rulings, and methods of legal reasoning and ijtihad.

•         Activating Maqasid and universal maxims: mastering the use of universal jurisprudential maxims, the objectives of Shariah, levels of interests, and consideration of consequences in understanding and directing subsidiary rulings and contemporary realities.

•         Mastery of contemporary transactions and finance jurisprudence: understanding modern transaction and sale contracts, banking finance and investment structures, sukuk, capital markets, cryptocurrencies, and the digital economy.

•         Addressing family, society, and Shariah policy issues: understanding personal-status jurisprudence, mechanisms of arbitration and family dispute resolution, foundations of Shariah policy and governance, and the jurisprudence of international relations and United Nations conventions.

•         Ijtihad in the jurisprudence of reality and emerging issues: acquiring tools for jurisprudential characterization of developments in biomedicine, artificial intelligence technologies, Muslim minority issues, and the deconstruction of doctrinal and intellectual misconceptions.

First Course: Introduction to Shariah Sciences, Epistemology, and Foundational Grounding (SHR 101)

·         Introduction to Shariah sciences and the map of Islamic knowledge (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Islamic epistemology (epistemology) and sources of reception (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         History of Islamic legislation and stages of jurisprudence and the four schools of law (4 lectures / 8 hours).

 

Second Course: Qur’anic and Sunnah Sciences and Methodologies of Inference (SHR 102)

·         Qur’anic sciences, principles of exegesis, and methodologies of exegetes (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Sciences of the Noble Hadith and methodologies of Hadith scholars in authentication and criticism (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Principles of inference from the Prophetic Sunnah and resolving apparent contradiction (4 lectures / 8 hours).

 

Third Course: Principles of Jurisprudence, Rules of Deduction, and Ijtihad (SHR 103)

·         Principles of jurisprudence: the Shariah ruling and its agreed-upon and disputed evidences (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Indications of expressions and topics of command and prohibition, general and specific (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Ijtihad and taqlid, methods of identifying the effective cause, and methodologies of analogy and legal reasoning (4 lectures / 8 hours).

 

Fourth Course: Jurisprudential Maxims and Objectives of Islamic Shariah (SHR 104)

·         Universal jurisprudential maxims and regulatory principles and their contemporary applications (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Objectives of Islamic Shariah, levels of interests, and prevention of harms (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Maqasid-based reasoning and balancing consequences in contemporary ijtihad (4 lectures / 8 hours).

 

Fifth Course: Jurisprudence of Worship, Family Jurisprudence, and Family Guidance (SHR 105)

·         Jurisprudence of worship, its wisdoms, and its educational and behavioral objectives (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Family jurisprudence: engagement, marriage, spouses’ rights, and compatibility (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Jurisprudence of divorce and family disputes, counseling, and family arbitration (4 lectures / 8 hours).

 

Sixth Course: Jurisprudence of Financial, Banking, and Economic Transactions (SHR 106)

·         Jurisprudence of sales and contemporary financial transactions and controls of riba and gharar (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Banking finance and investment contracts and digital banking services (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Sukuk, investment funds, cryptocurrencies, and markets (4 lectures / 8 hours).

 

Seventh Course: Shariah Policy, Judiciary, and Public Governance (SHR 107)

·         Shariah policy, foundations of good governance, and management of public affairs (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Jurisprudence of international relations, conventions, organizations, and human rights (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Judiciary, arbitration, and jurisprudence of Hisbah and institutional oversight (4 lectures / 8 hours).

 

Eighth Course: Jurisprudence of Emerging Issues and Reality and Contemporary Da‘wah Discourse (SHR 108)

·         Jurisprudence of reality and methodologies for studying environments and emerging issues (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Contemporary emerging issues: medical, biological, technological, and digital developments (4 lectures / 8 hours).

·         Principles of fatwa, deconstructing misconceptions, and contemporary da‘wah discourse (4 lectures / 8 hours).

6. Organizational Structure and Assessment System:

•         Duration and sessions: 12 months (evening period), at a rate of two lectures per week, two hours per lecture = 192 direct interactive training hours through 96 lectures.

•         Language of study and delivery method: Arabic | fully remote interactive training (Online).

•         Distribution of approved hours (265 hours):

·         192 hours: direct interactive lectures and usuli and jurisprudential applications.

·         25 hours: required and open readings and authentic references in Shariah sciences.

·         20 hours: questions, activities, and short applications after each module.

·         10 hours: applied assignments and specialized research.

·         6 hours: assessment and periodic feedback.

·         6 hours: interim, semester, and final reviews.

·         6 hours: final examinations and graduation project.

•         Attendance and assessment requirements: attendance of no less than 75% of the direct interactive lectures, and submission of the prescribed assignments and foundational research.

•         Certificate and graduation project: the graduate is awarded the Higher Professional Diploma in Shariah Foundations and Fiqh of Reality after passing the comprehensive electronic examinations and submitting a comprehensive applied graduation research project on the foundational grounding and jurisprudential characterization of one contemporary emerging issue.
