1. Program Overview:

A specialized professional and educational program extending over 8 months (192 hours of approved study load), aimed at preparing and qualifying teachers and specialists capable of diagnosing and addressing difficulties in acquiring the English language among learners. The program covers the developmental and neurological foundations of learning disabilities, dyslexia, phonological awareness, vocabulary and grammatical-structure difficulties, distinguishing between linguistic differences and disorders, teaching through multisensory approaches, and employing technology and artificial intelligence to support learners with special needs.

2. Key Objectives:

  •         Understanding the developmental and neurological foundations: comprehending the stages of language acquisition and the development of different types of learning disabilities and identifying their early indicators.
  •         Addressing reading and phonological challenges: diagnosing dyslexia (Dyslexia), and developing phonological-awareness strategies and letter–sound correspondence in English.
  •         Building linguistic and expressive skills: addressing vocabulary and grammar challenges and developing receptive and productive skills among English Language Learners (ELLs).
  •         Applying modern teaching and assessment strategies: employing multisensory teaching (Multisensory Approaches), artificial intelligence tools, and developing individualized assessment plans and community advocacy.

3. Target Audience:

  •         Male and female English-language teachers at various educational stages.
  •         Specialists in special education, learning disabilities, and educational and psychological counseling.
  •         Academic supervisors and designers of Individualized Education Plans (IEP).
  •         Graduates of Faculties of Education, Languages and Translation, and Psychological and Social Sciences.

11. Bilingual and Multilingual Learners with Learning Disabilities.

12. Distinguishing between Linguistic Differences and Language Disorders.

13. Assessment and Progress Monitoring for English Learners with Learning Disabilities.

14. Classroom Strategies for English Learners with Learning Disabilities.

5. Organizational Data and Assessment:

  •         Duration and sessions: 8 months (evening period) | 60 interactive lectures, two lectures per week, two hours per lecture = 120 direct training hours.
  •         Delivery method and language of study: fully remote (Online) | English language.
  •         Distribution of credit hours (192 total hours):

·         120 hours: live interactive online lectures.

·         40 hours: required readings and open resources.

·         16 hours: chapter questions and self-assessment.

·         6 hours: final review and completion examination.

·         10 hours: presentations and diagnostic applications.

  •         Attendance and assessment requirements: attendance of no less than 75% of live lectures, in addition to assignments and practical assessments.
  •         Certificate and final project: Diploma Certificate in Learning Disabilities: Language Acquisition. The final assessment includes an electronic examination and diagnostic and therapeutic case studies.
