Department of Information Technology — Mobile Application Development

1. Program Overview:

An intensive professional and applied program extending over 3 months (80 hours of approved study load), aimed at qualifying professional smartphone application developers capable of building cross-platform applications for iOS and Android using the Flutter framework and the Dart programming language. The program covers interface design, state management, working with APIs and databases, authentication and notification services, and testing and publishing applications on app stores.


2. Key Objectives:

  • Mastering the Dart language and the fundamentals of the Flutter framework: understanding the programming structure for writing clean code and efficiently building interface components (Widgets).
  • Designing professional interfaces and managing state: developing responsive and attractive user interfaces while applying navigation mechanisms and advanced state management (State Management).
  • Integration with databases and cloud services: connecting applications to Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), storing data locally and in the cloud, and managing authentication and users.
  • Managing mobile services and deployment: enabling notification services (Push Notifications), conducting testing and debugging, and preparing and building the application for publication on the Google Play and App Store stores.

2. Dart Programming Fundamentals.

3. Flutter Framework Fundamentals.

4. Mobile Application Interface Design (UI/UX).

5. Navigation and State Management.

6. Working with Data and APIs.

7. Databases and Local and Cloud Data Storage.

8. Authentication and User Management.

9. Notifications and Mobile Services (Notifications & Device Features).

10. Mobile Application Testing and Debugging.

11. Building and Preparing the Application for Deployment (Build & Deployment).

12. Final Mobile Application Project.


5. Program Data and Organizational Assessment:

  • Field and specialization: Information Technology / Mobile Application Development.
  • Duration and sessions: 3 months (evening period) | 20 to 25 lectures (two lectures per week, two hours per lecture).
  • Distribution of credit hours (80 total hours):

50 hours: interactive live lectures (remote / online).

20 hours: required readings and open resources.

7 hours: chapter questions and self-assessment.

3 hours: final review and completion examination.

  • Attendance and assessment requirements: an attendance rate of no less than 75% of the interactive lectures, in addition to assignments and practical assessments.
  • Final project: an online assessment test (25 multiple-choice questions + 5 practical case questions), in addition to building, developing, and preparing an integrated mobile application as a graduation project.
