1. Program Overview:

An advanced training and applied program extending over 3 months (80 hours of approved study load), directed exclusively to specialists and graduates of psychology departments to enable them to engage in rigorous clinical practice in assessment and diagnosis. The program covers modern developments in international diagnostic manuals (DSM-5-TR and ICD-11), diagnostic interview techniques, clinical observation and case study, application, scoring, and interpretation of standardized personality measures such as MMPI-3 and mental health scales, diagnosis of behavioral and developmental disorders and intellectual disabilities in children and adults, projective tests, neuropsychological assessment tools (Neuropsychological Assessment), measurement of executive functions, through to professional formulation and writing of evidence-based clinical psychological reports.

2. Key Objectives:

  •         Understanding the standards of international diagnostic manuals: mastering differential diagnosis and using the criteria and classifications of modern diagnostic manuals (DSM-5-TR and ICD-11).
  •         Mastering clinical assessment and interview techniques: applying the structured diagnostic interview, clinical observation, and building an integrated case-study file.
  •          Applying and interpreting psychological batteries and scales: practical training on the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI-3), standardized mental health scales, and projective and neuropsychological tests.
  •         Diagnosing developmental disorders and measuring executive functions: assessing intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum, childhood disorders, and executive functions (Executive Functions).
  •         Professional clinical report writing: formulating integrated and accurate psychological reports that clarify assessment and diagnostic results and establish intervention plans and therapeutic recommendations.

3. Admission Requirements and Target Audience:

  •         Basic admission requirement: the program is exclusively for specialists in psychology / holders of a first university degree in Psychology / Psychological Counseling.
  •         Psychologists and clinical specialists working in hospitals, clinics, and counseling centers.
  •         Postgraduate students and researchers in clinical psychology and psychometrics.

Professional Note: The trainee receives abbreviated training copies of the approved scales in order to preserve intellectual property rights.

5. Organizational Structure and Assessment System:

  •         Duration and schedule: 3 months (evening period), at a rate of two lectures per week, two hours per lecture = 25 lectures / 50 direct hours.
  •         Training language and delivery method: Arabic | live interactive remote training (Online).
  •         Distribution of credit hours (80 total hours):

·         50 hours: live and interactive online lectures.

·         20 hours: open readings and practical applications.

·         7 hours: chapter questions and self-assessment.

·         3 hours: final review and program completion examination.

  •         Assessment and certificate system: the program is based on continuous assessment through assignments, practical applications, and case analysis. The trainee is awarded a Diploma in Psychological Assessment and Diagnostic Tools after passing the final online examination consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions + 5 questions on applied clinical cases.
